During this season of summer doldrums and summer heat ideas for themes and topics for my next book bounce around in my head. While my brain sorts and shifts through what might actually become a published work, I’m reading Laurie Halse Anderson’s Ashes, one of her America Trilogy series of historical fiction for youth, and considering whether or not writing a story about my ancestor who did the washing for George Washington is worth investing my writing time into creating.

Meanwhile, I’m preparing for my trip to Maine in August to do books signings for my lighthouse series. Sherman’s and the Maine Lighthouse Museum welcome my return each summer to promote their sales and I welcome returning to my favorite seacoast state. Read my next blog for my schedule.
